Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance in (La_<1-x>Sr_x)_2CuO_4 System

Nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) of Cu in (La. .Sr.).Cu0. system(0.075 3,x'j0.l5) has been performed where the system is transformed from the high-T. superconducting to the normal metallic state. The NQR frequency increases andthe spectrum is broadened with increasing x. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation raLcI / T. shows a remarkable distribution for more than x= 0.125. For the nonsupercon-ducting compound of ,X'=0.15, each component of 1 /I.is suppressed as compared tothat in the superconducting compound of x= 0.075 which is strongly enhanced by an-tiferromagnetic spin correlation of Cu-d hole, and is found to obey the Korringa relaLion, 7'.I=const. from l.4to 90K. This dramatic change of 1/7'.isaccompanied bythe disappearance of T.. It is concluded that the superconductivity is realized with thebackground of the A.F. spin correlation.
