^<17>O and ^<63>Cu NMR Investigations of High-T_c Superconductor La<1.85>Sr<0.15>CuO_4 with T_c=38K

"0 and "Cu NMR measurements have been made in L..g,Srg..,Cu0. with 7'.=38K. Both "0 Knight shift and quadrupole tensor were determined from the analyses ofthe "0 spectrum of oriented powder. The quadrupole frequencies of the planar oxygen and Cu nuclei are consistently interpreted by the analyses of Hanzawa et cl.made in YBa.Cu. O, with the electric field gradients due to the on-site holes at Cu andO sites. Then the weight factor of the CO-3(2'(.X" -y') and 2p. wave functions arededuced, the latter having the larger weight. From the Knight shifts vs the bulk suscep-tibility plots, the hyperfine coupling constants for "0 and "Cu were almost the sameas those in YBa.Cu.O,. Both shifts decrease significantly below T. having residualparts of "A..=0.38% and "K.=0.O2% at 4.2K, which were larger than those inYBa. Cu. 0. .
