^<139>La NQR Study of Electronic States in Metallic Compounds (La_<1-x>Sr_x)_2CuO_4

We measured the temperature dependence of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxationtime T. of "'La in metallic compounds (La. .Sr.).Cu0. with .X'=0.045, 0.075, 0.10(high-7'. superconductors) and .X'=0.15 (nonsuper'conductor) by NQR experimenta-lion. T. for .X'=0.l5 was found to conform to the Korringa relation (7'.7'=const.)sufficiently, while the T, for ,v=0.075 and 0.10 in the normal state showed slightlystronger temperature dependence and were shorter than that for ,v=0.l5, in spite ofthe increase of hole concentration with increasing x. Fluctua1.ions of Cu d-spins areconsidered to play an important role for T. in superconducting compounds. The relax-ation behavior in the compound with ,v=0.045 is also discussed.
