NMR Study of the Dense Kondo Compound CeRu_2Si_2

From the "Si Knight shift (K) and the nuclear relaxation rate (1/T,) measure-ments, CeRuzSiz is demonstrated to be the non-magnetic Kondo lattice compoundwith the Kondo temperature T.: 12 K which exhibits a huge anisotropy of themagnetic properties. The Knight shift Kj7 parallel to the tetragonal c-axis showsa similar temperature dependence to the measured susceptibility with a maximumaround 12 K, while A. perpendicular to the c-axis is almost temperature in-dependent with Kjj/K.:30 at 4.2 K. 1/7'1. is larger by about 3 times than 1/T37jand both decrease as temperature lowers below 12 K, changing from the tem-perature independent behavior at higher temperature. It has been found that1711. obeys the Korringa relation with T..1:1.0secK below 7":8K, de-monstrating that the Fermi liquid state has emerged just below Tg : 12 K.
