^<63>Cu Knight Shift Study in High-T_c Superconductor Tl_2Ba_2CuO_<6+y> with a Single CuO_2 Layer

"Cu Knight shift in Tl.Ba.CuO.., with a single CUO2 plane ltas been measured byusing a partially oriented powder with the c-axis perpendicular to the external field(A.5). For the compounds with T.= 72 K and 40K, K.. exclusively connected to thespin susceptibility (z,) is 7'-independent above T., while it decreases rapidly below T..By taking into account the 7'-independent orbital shift of K...= O.24% and O.26%, respectively, 7,(T) is found to become almost zero below T/ T.= 0.3, in good agreemtwith the isotropic energy gap (.s'- wave) model with a larger energy gap (2,1 = 4.4k.. T.)than the BCS value (2,1 =3.5A.7'.). For the nonsupercondttcting T1.Ba.CuO...,K..(7,) exhibits no 7'-variation, which is different from the behavior observed in otherhigh-7'. oxides except YBa.Cu.O..
