NQR Study of Copper in YBa_2Cu_3O_<7-y> with Doping Co and Fe Impurity

A NQR study of copper in YBa.Cu.0. , with the doping of Co and Fe impuritieshas been performed. The nuclear spin lattice relaxation time, T., of "Cu wasmeasured in both the Cu0 chain and Cub. plane. The broad peak was observed inthe temperature dependence of T. ' in both systems. For the Co-doped system, T. 'of Cu in the CuO chain is greatly enhanced compared to that in the Cub. plane. Fromthe analysis of the data, we conclude that Co Tons occupy only Cu sites in the Cu0chain, and Fe ions occupy Cu sites in both the Cu0 chain and Cub. plane. The broadpeak in the relaxation rate is considered to be due to the occurrence of a magneticordering.
