By observing'the time-resolved fluorescetace followixag the laser excitation of aheliuun level in a discharge plasma, the authors lmave deterunined the excitationtrattsfer rate coefficieuats anaotag the 77=3 levels due to atotaaic and electrouniccollisions. The result in the fo?'raa of the thernaall)' averaged cross section is : for3'P+3'D<(:I""">=(1.9#O.4)XIO "C1Ti' avad<0""">=(2.441.2)XIO-"c?n';for 3'D=3'P<G""">=(5.3:1.1.2)XIO-"Clll" atxd (a""')=(0.930.4)x10-"cm". The cross sectioras for atonaic collisiouas are ira reasotaably good agreeuneuatwith othex' experiuneratal and theoretical data, bttt Ixhe cross sectiouts for electroxaiccollisions are larger tha?? the earlier experimexatal data by two orders a?ad are inextremely good agreement with the recezat calculaliouas.
