• Oscillator strenuths ( f values) for the transitions 4s4rt 'P -4sns '.5 with n=5and 6, -4snd'D with n=4 and 5, -4p" P, and -3d" P have been determinedb>' usinn the hook method. The metastable 4s4tt 'P levels are rorulated bar a DCdischarge. The absolute scale is based on recent lifetime measurements for 4s5s'.5 and 4s4d 'D. The resulting absolute f values are in reasonable agreement withthe data of NBS compilation except for 4s4p 'P -4s5s '5 but show significantdiscrepancy with recent theoretical values.
