With an increase in n. from the low-density limit an excited level'st)arts from thecapture-radiative-cascade (CRC) phase to reach the saturation phase, its tra'nsitionbeing given by Griem's LTE boundary. In the former phase the population densityapproaches asymptotically to the thermal-equilibrium value in the limit of largeprincipal quantum number. In the saturation phase partial LTE cis establishedfor all of the levels. For the net or co]lisionaJ-radiative recombinrttion the ratecoefficient is z.-independent in the low-density region and becomes proportionalto n. in the high-density region. The boundary is given from the transition be-tween the radiative and colljsional populating processes of the jground level.
