On the Peierls Energy of a Dislocation Describable in Terms of a Double-Sine-Gordon Equation

The Peierls energy of a double sine-Gordon dislocation as a function of theposition of the dislocation center is analytically estimated by means of the contourintegral. It turns out that the relative stability of dislocation of the even-type andof the odd-type depends on a parameter a/4b which determines the form of thesubstrate potential.
