New Cation-Diffusing Phase of (CH_3NH_3)_5Bi_2Cl_<11>

A new phase transition of (CH_3NH_3)_5Bi_2Cl_<11> was found at 520 K by proton NMR and differential thermal analysis. By the phase transition, the activation energy of translational diffusion of CH_3NH^+_3 cation was reduced from 83kJ/mol to 29kJ/mol. Rotational motion of the cation in the low-temperature phase is also discussed.
