Brillouin scattering spectra and the thermal expazasion of SnCl.=2H.0 wereexperimcSntaI]y studied over a temperature ramage covering the isomorphoustransition at -55'C (I.). The frequency shifts of the longitudinal phonon showan anomaly at the phase transition temperature for g//[1004, [0013 and [101] butnot for 9//[010].
