Raman scattering measurements of K.Ba(NO.). at low temperatures have been car-ried out. No soft mode related to the low-temperature transition was observed, imply-ing that the transition is quite likely of the order-disorder type. It is found that thefull width at half-maximum of the lowest-lying mode in the ( YY ) polarization has alinear temperature dependence.Raman scattering, phase transition, K.Ba(NO.)., ferroelastic
