Anomalous Ultrasonic Attenuation near the Ferroelectric Phase Transition Point of Ca_2Sr (C_2H_5CO_2)_6

The temperature dependence of the anomalous ultrasonic attenuation inCa.Sr(CzH.C0z)5 has been measured in the frequency range 10.3 -72.1 MHzabove and below the ferroelectric phase transition temperature. Shift of theattenuation peaks towards the lower temperature side with increasing frequencyhas been observed. It has turned out that the behavior of the anomalies of theultrasonic attenuation in the vicinity of ferroelectric phase transition point can bewell explained by the Levanyuk theory. The elastic relaxation time r=3.0 >< 10-'/(T. -7')sec. estimated from the first order (piezoelectric) effect in the soundattenuation is found to be quite close to the dielectric relaxation time at 'T. - T1 'C.
