The temr>erature aerenaences or the sort ro moae ana the associated tomode in LizGev0ts have been measured bv Raman scattering teclmique in theferroelectric phase. The frequency of the LO mode decreases as T. is approachedfrom below. The LO-TO sr>littinn of the soft mode was observed to be smallerthan 1 cm-'. The results are discussed in the relationshir with those obtainedthrough measurements or dielectric constant. The oscillator strength ror thepolar soft mode in the paraelectric phase is expected to be very small.
