Observation of Ferroelastic Domains in LaNbO_4 by Micro-Raman Spectroscopy

We observed ferroelastic domain of LaNb0. crystals by micro-Raman spec-troscopy utilizing a specific band (107 cm ' A. mode) with the polarization condition.We found the variation of the Raman intensity corresponding to the ferroelastic do-main structure, which is caused by the rotation of crystallographic axes in each do-main. The results were in accordance with the optical microscope image with a goodreproducibility, proving the feasibility of micro-Raman spectroscopy in the study ofdomain structures.ferroelastic domain, LaNbO., micro-Raman spectroscopy
