Dilatometric and Dielectric Studies of an Incommensurate Transition in Quartz

Dielectric and dilatometric measurements were carried out to study the in-termediate incommensurate phase of quartz crystal, which is stabilized betweenthe x- and the /7-phases. Anomalies associated with the transitions from thehigh temperature /7-phase to the incommensurate phase and then to the a-phasewere observed.
