Thermal Expansion of a Superionic Conductor RbAg_4I_5 Crystal at Low Temperatures

A small but distinct jump in thermal dilatation of a superionic conductor RbAg_4I_5 crystal was found at the cubic-trigonal transition temperature T_1=208 K, in addition to a large discontinuity at T_2=122 K. The jump observed at T_1 provides a direct evidence that the transition is of the first order as is expected from the Landau condition.
