Thermal Expansion and Pressure-Temperature Phase Diagrams of Pb_3(VO_4)_2 and Pb_3(PO_4)_2 Crystals

The experimental r'esults of dilatation and the temperature-pressure phasediagrams for Pb.(VO.). and Pb,(PC.). crystals are presented. The pressurecoefficients of transition temperatures between the trigonal and the nonpolarmonoclinic phases ciT./cip and between the nonpolar and polar monoclinicr>hases dTz/cit for Pbe(VO,t)z were -12.1 and 20.2 den/kbar, resr>ectivel>r. Theintermediate monoclinic phase II of Pb3(VO.). vanishes at a triple point of 3 kbarand 65'C. The c1T./dp for Pb.(PG.). was -9.8 deg/kbar, but no triple point wasobserved. The entrorv channe estimated for Pbe(VO:)z on the basis of obtaineddata suggests that the transition mechanism in this crystal is likely to be of theorder-disorder type.
