Several physical properties related to phase transitions in Na.C03 crystal. wereexperimentally studied. Ferroelasticity was confirm<:d above 200'C. The terrtpera-ture dependence of birefringence was measured. Pressure dependence of transitiontemperatures were studied above room temperatttre. In addition, specific heatand electric capacity in low temperature region were measured, but no distinctanomalies associated with the reported lock-in trartsition could be found.
