The spatial correlation functions of a director field are obtained analytically in atwo-dimensional XY system consisting of randomly distributed topological defects.For a system containing point defects with the strength (the winding number) .s', thecorrelation function is expressed as C ( r) = exp [ - p r' g a -1- ( l / 2) ' n S ' log (71? / r) } ] fora large 7?, where 7?, p and a are the system size, the defect density and a constant, re-spectively.
