A 42-year-old female had undergone radical operation for rectal cancer at the age of 39 years and re-operation for a local recurrence at the age of 42 years. A metastatic lung tumor and atelectasis were observed in the upper lobe of the right lung. Since bronchoscopy revealed stenosis at the orifice of the upper lobar bronchus, sleeve lobectomy of the right upper lobe was performed. Regional lymph node metastasis was present, but the patient survived for 2 years and 3 months after operation. Sleeve lobectomy is considered to be an effective procedure against metastatic lung cancers and advantageous for maintaining the postoperative quality of life.
