A case of primary cardiac lymphoma as a complication of Sjogren's syndrome was reported. The diagnosis of Sjogren's syndrome was based on keratoconjunctivitis sicca identified 12 years previously. Because of complaints of light-headedness since September 1991,the patient was admitted to our hospital in October 1992. After admission she developed a sinoatrial block, so that a permanent pacemaker was implanted after temporary pacing. Further examination revealed a right atrial tumor, although a gallium scintigram showed only local abnormal accumulation without other abnormal accumulation. Surgical resection of the right atrial tumor was performed on November 21,1992. The tumor was diagnosed as a malignant, diffuse large-cell type lymphoma of Blymphocyte origin. Three weeks after the operation, six courses of combination chemotherapy were started, and she was discharged in a satisfactory condition in April 1993. The therapy significantly improved this patient's prognosis. We conclude that the patients with Sjogren's syndrome who have a relatively high risk of malignant lymphoma, when signs of cardiovascular symptoms occurred in these patients, cardiac lymphoma should also be suspected.
