Pine moth disease is a rare disease caused by contact with pine moth. The present study is concerned with the clinical symptoms, laboratory findings and treatment in 51 patients treated in Jiangxi Medical College in China. The chest wall was commonly involved in this disease. Local pain and swelling were so remarkable that the patients could not straighten their trunks. There was no trend to liquefaction. There were no characteristic findings except for elevation of ESR in laboratory test. Medical treatment including antibiotics, steroid, etc. was, to some extent, effective but not satisfactory. Incision or drainage should not, however, be done. Radiation with infrared and ultraviolet rays was most effective. Prognosis is not poor.
