Magnetic Polarization of Conduction Electrons at Au Layers in Fe/Au Multilayers by ^<119>Sn Mossbauer Spectroscopy

"'Sn M6ssbauer meastrrements were performed for Fe/Au rnultilayers with "'Sn probes tostudy magnetic properties of Au layers. "'Sn M6ssbauer probes were embedded in Au layers ofFe/Au multilayers which were made by tnltra-high vacuurn evaporation. "'Sn M6ssbauer spectrashowed large magnetic hyperfine fields, indicating that Au layers were polarized by ferrornagneticFe layers. M6ssbauer spectra were measured with applied field at 5 K. By compvxter fitting itwas found that the hyperfine fields due to the rnagnetic pot;trization have both parallel andantiparallel contributions to the applied field direction.
