Magmtetic structures and magnetization prcccesses ol' [Fe(27A)/Cr(12A)]multilayered films are investigated by polarized neutron diffraction, polarizationanalysis and "Fe M6ssbauem' spectroscopy. Transverse components of total magneticmomeuats of the ferromagnetic Fe Iayeu-s, spaced by a Cr layer, to the applied fieldform an an[iparalIeI long range order in the mtultilayers. The magnetizatiomv processof tlte total moment of the Fe layer is a uniform rotation of the Fe montent vectorwitlt keeping tlte unagmtitude constant except in a very low tield region. The existenceof non-zero magnetic naoment is suggested in the Cr layer. The relationship betweenthe antiferromagnetic aligutment of the Fe layer moments and the change of tltemagnetoresustance 111 varxous applied fields is briefly discussed.[polarized netutron diffraction, polarization analysis, M6ssbauer spectroscopy, ]l Fe/Cr, multilayer, giant magnetoresistance, anLiferx-omagnetic coupling l
