Cu-NMR Study on Bilayer High-T_c Cuprate La_<1.89>Ca_<1.11>Cu_2O_<6+δ>(La2126)

The temperature dependence of the ""'Cu-NMR relaxation rate T7 ' and the spectrum of thelightly doped high-T. cuprate La).ggCa).jjCtrzO5?,5 (La2l26) with bilayer CuO planes have beenstudied. The field-swept spectrum was explained by assuming that there are two Cvr sites withquadrupole frequencies of "vq :- 25.6 and 32 IVIHz. The Knight shift decreased naonotonicallywith decreasing temperature in the normal state, which is consistent with the reported result thatthe system belongs to the lightly doped region where the hole content is less than the optimumvalue. The Curie-Weiss temperature dependence of (V'jT) ' :$ 2600/(T-; 1110) (K-s) ' in thenormal state down to T. indicates that the pseudo-spin gap does not always exist in lightly dopedbilayer systerns.
