Drastic Change of the Magnetic Phase Diagram of Ce_χLa_<1-χ>B_6 between χ=0.75 and 0.5

We have sttrdied the rnaunetoresistance and magnetic tchase diagram of Ce..I,at .Bc;(.r = 0,65,0,7). The antiferrornagnetic (AF) phase IV r'ecently discovered in Ceg.75La0.35B5, xvhere it existsonly in a narrow temperattrre and unargnetic field regiota, extends down to T :l 0 K f'or .r = 0.7.The tn?tgnetoresistance in phase TV is u??trch snaaller than that in the AF phase III dotninatedby the antiferro-qtradrtrpolar (AFQ) ordering. A first-order ph?tse transition takes place at acritical tnagnetic field frona phase IV to III ?tnd that field for H 7 (100) is stnaller than tlaat f'or#7(110). Tlaese can be explained Icy considering the difl'erence of'the free energy in uaaagneticfields between phases TV and III. A tetra-critical poizat seeuns to exist for x : 0.75 btrt it isseparated into two tri-critical points by the TV-II botrndary for H 7 (110) in Ceg..j5Lag.35B5.
