Unusual Magnetic Phase Diagram of Ce_xLa_<1-x>B_6(x=0.5,0.75) Studied by the Magnetoresistance

We have sttrdied the magnetoresistance of Ce.Laj .B6 (r : 0.25,0.5,0.75) single crystalsunder the magnetic fields Lip to 15 T and in a tenuperattmre range between 0,4 K and 15 K. In PhaseI (parauaaagnetic), in all the samples the negative magnetoresistance is observed, whose naagnittrdebecounes larger with decreasing teraaperattrre. However, in Ceg.5Lag.5B(;, the magnetoresistancebelow T x l K becomes very small neverthless the negative magnetoresistance is observed abovexi K. This is completely different from the naagnetoresistance in Ceg.z5Lag.75B5 where theraaagnittrde of the negative rmagnetoresistance beconues larger with decreasing teuaaperature, Theweak magnetic field deperadence of the electrical resistivity is observed also ir'x Phase IV inCeg.75Lag.z5B(3. These restrlts indicate that the grotxnd state of C(20.5L2L0.5B6 is not the Kondosinglet btrt the AF (antiferro) magnetic state called Phase Vl' is realized below xl K. Phase IV'is similar to Phase IV in C(l!0.75L2l0.25B6. The anisotropy of' the phase botmndaries between I, II(AFQ (antiferroqtradrupolar) ordered), III (antiferrounagnetic ordered) and IV' in Ce0.5Lag.5B5has been studied. The phase botrndary I -TV' does not show the anisotropy btrt that of III -IIshows the large anisotropy depending on the ?tpplied field direction. These are discussed frouaathe stand point that the magnetic anisotropy and the intereference effect between the AFQ andAF interaction are important. We propose the uuaechanism of the phase transition from TV' toIII .. II.
