An Attempt to Produce a Long Superconducting NbN Wire by the Reactive Sputtering Method(Low-T_c Superconducting Materials Research)

A preparation method for a long superconducting NbN compound was examined with an improved reactive sputtering technique. A cylindrical pure Nb target was developed. A long sample deposited on a tungsten wire showed the good superconducting properties. The critical current density of this sample was improved by annealing at temperatures around 1100 K, and it showed no strain dependence up to 1.14 % where the tungsten wire substrate was broken.
