Particle orbits in a line-cusp ntaguaetic field in the presence of electr'ostaticrf-field localized to the naaxiuntrm nuagnetic field region are sttudied nttmericallyunder the itvitial conditions that the particles start from the cusp center along thestraight magnetic field. Restults show that 1) when the rf-frequency co is greaterthan the naaximuna cyJotron freqtzency or>.. and the electric field strength E isless than a critical value E., the particles are eithacr unconfined or reflected adia-batically depending on whether the initial energy' is greater or smaller t}man themaxinauna ponderozaaotive potential<).. of the rf-field; 2) when co..<'.co butE>E., nonadiabatic reflection 0CCL1I'S in the energ;y region jttst below cla.. ; and 3)when co<cta.. there always exist three reginnes c?f unconfinenaent, nonac[iabaticreflection and adiabatic reflection depending on the initial energy. The valtue ofE. is determined by the condition for occurrence c>f the DoppJer-shifted cyclotronresonance.
