Linear dispersion relation for an axisymmetric rnetal-wall slow wave structure (SWS) withdouble period corrugations has been analyzed numerically. The double period SWS us hereproposed for improving the oscillation frequency performance of high-power backward waveoscillators that may sustain stable oscillation despite the energy exhattstion of the driving electronbearn from upstream to downstream in the SWS. It is shown that conventional TMg) mode ina single period SWS is split into a number of isolated branches. Oscillation frequencies are keptcomparatively unchanged rather than the case of single peric>d SWS.
