The susceptibility in arbitrary directions, the specific he?rt, the energy and the magnetizationof general Ising-type chains are exactly expressed in terms of the eigenvectors of' the transfermatrix corresponding to tire Ising-type interaction. These qttantities, ?ts a result, can be explic-itly obtained for small spin values and generally olctained from the soltrtion of correspondingeigenvalue problem of finite degree. Ntrnaerical estittaations are easy for arbitrary spin v?rtues,This forrtaula inclttdes the spin-.5 transxzerse Ising naodel witlx vanisl?ing or non-vanishing parallelexternal field, the Blume-Enaery-GrifFiths rnodel and the Blutrre-Capel tnodel, naixed spirr andmixed bond periodic systems strch as alternating Isirrg chains or Ising f'errimagnets and also in-cludes Isirrg models with random structtures. Low tenaperatttre behaviors of these systenas andthe crossover to infirnite spin systenas are also investigated.
