139^La-NMR Study on La-based High-T_c Cuprates La_<2-x>M_xCuO_4(M=Sr,Ba) around x=0.115 under High Magnetic Field

The effect of the external field on La-NMR spectra has been studied on La-based high-T.cuprates L2L2 .Sr.CtrO,j(r Z 0.115) and Laz .Ba.CuO,((r:0.125), where the magnetic orderingin Ctr-3d spin exists at low temperature. In the magnetically ordered state, the broadening inthe resonance line xvas observed, reflecting the hyperfine field at the La-site contribtnted by theCu-3d stains. Bv atcr>lvin: a high naa:netic field of 15 T, this broadenin: in Lax .Sr,rCuO,ushowed a significant shrink, which is interpreted as the spin-flop in the canted-spin system withthe Dzyaloshinski-1VIoriya interaction. A rmodel is proposed to explain both this spin-flop andthe previously-reported anornalous field dependence of the structural instability in this systern.
