EPR Study of Gd^<3+>-V_m and Gd^<3+>-Li^+ Centres in Several Perovskite Fluorides

EPR ?easurerrxents 011 Gd" centres 111 KCdFs>RbCdF:;, RbCQF.e, CSCdFsand CsCaF. for crystals co-doped with Li" tons have beerr made in the cubicphase of host crystals. In all the crystals spectra for Gd" centres associated withboth cation vacancy (V..) and Li" ton at the nearest divalent cation site have beenobserved. The observed parameters b') and bg in the spin Hamiltonian showvarious dependences on lattice constant in the series of fluorides with the samediva[ent (Cd" or Ca") or the same monovalent (Cs" or Rb -') cation. The differ-ences of the magnitude of b'J and bg for Gd" -Li' centre frorrx that for Gd" -V.centre in the same host crystal are discussed.
