EPR Study of Fe^<3+>-V_<cd>and Fe^<3+>-Li^+Centres in RbCdF_3 and CsCdF_3 Crystals

EPR measurements on Fe" centres in RbCdF, and CsCdF. for crystals co-dopedwith Li" ions have been made in the cubic phase of host crystals. In both the crystalsspectra from two kinds of Fe" tetragonal centres associated with Cd" vacancy (V..)and Li" ion at the nearest-divalent-cation sites have been observed. From obtainedfine structure parameters in the spin Hamiltonian the met;tl-ligand distances havebeen determined by the superposition model. The fine structure parameters have beenexplained well by the obtained metal-ligand distances, which show the contraction ordistortion of fluorine octahedra surrounding Fe" ions.
