EPR of Cr^<3+> Centres in K_2ZnF_4 Crystals Doped with Na^+ and Li^+ Ions

Results of EPR measurements of Cr" in K.ZnF. are reported for crystalsco-doped with Na' or Li" tons. A few kinds of Cr" centres are observed inboth crystals, where parts of Cr" are associated with charge compensators. InNa"-doped crystal, the nearest Zn"-vacancy centre has comparable intensity withthe uncompensated centre, but the nearest K"-vacancy centre is not observed.In Li"-doped crystal, the Zn"?-vacancy centre is weak compared with the un-compensated centre, and the K"-vacancy centre is also not c>bserved, but a newcentre having comparable intensity with the uncompensated centre appears. Thenew centre is attributed to Cr" associated with Li" at the nearest Zn" site.Fine structure parameters in the spin Hamiltonian are discussed by superpositionof the two uniaxial terms along the crystal-tetragonal axis and bond axis to thecharge compensator.
