Kondo Effect in Disordered Two-Dimendional Systems

Interplay between localization and the Kondo effect has been examined for amodel two-dimensional system. Various physical quantities associated withlocalized spins are calculated perturbatively in terms of exchange coupling con-stant J and 2=tt/2xe.r. where e. is the Fermi energy and r. is the relaxation timeof plane wave states; the susceptibility and the conductivity are shown to havequantum corrections proportional to 2J'In" (/) a.nd 2J'/t, respectively, wheret = it/2ncgkT.It is discussed that the ground states of localized spins are qualitatively thesame as in pure systems because the ensemble average of local densities of statesdefined by<.p(e., r)7>(e., r)= - = p(e., r)) appears to be non zero for any n in thelimit of equal energies, ej->e..
