Localjzation-delocalization transition has been examined for interacting one-dimensional fermion systems with the backward and the Umklapp scatteringby tuse of the phase Hamiltonian. In this approach the localized state is representedas that where the phase variable of either charge or spin (or both of them) ispinned by imput'ities and then distorted spatially, i.e. glassy. The transition canbe tunderstood as the depinning process dtte to the qtuanttmutt fltucttmations andits botundary has been deternmined both fronm the localized region and from thedelocalized region. The two different procedures are shown to yield same criterionfor the transition.
