• The crystal structure of bis(acetylacetonato)platinum(II) benzene solvate has been determined by means of X-ray diffraction. The geometry around the platinum atom is square-planar. Acetylacetonato ligands are bonded to the Pt atom by the <I>O</I>,<I>O</I>′-chelation, the Pt–O bond lengths being 2.008 (15) and 1.979 (14) Å.
