Analysis of Soft X-Ray Photoelectric Yield and Absorption Spectra by Potential Scanning Technique : LiF and NaF near the F K-Absorption Edge

Soft X-ray photoelectric yield and absorption spectra obtained using the potential scanning technique were constructed empirically for LiF and NaF near the fluorine K absorption edge. In the model calculations carried out for the case of a nickel X-ray target, the incident X-ray intensity distribution was approximated by the intensity of the nickel bremsstrahlung isochromat spectrum represented by four parameters. Fluorine K absorption spectra of LiF and NaF were used to estimate the efficiency of the photocathode and the transmission coefficient of the absorber. The constructed spectra were able to reproduce essential features of the corresponding observed spectra. The relations between the observed and constructed spectra are discussed.
