The K_β emission spectrum, the L_<II.III> emission spectrum and the L_<II.III> absorption spectum for sulfur in cubic CdS have been measured with a bent quartz crystal spectrograph or a grazing incidence spectrograph. The light source for measuring the L_<II.III> absorption spectrum was the continuous spectrum of synchrotron radiation. Results are as follows: p-electrons are concentrated near the top of the valence band and s-electroris in the middle part. The states nesr the bottom of the conduction band are of the s-type. The obtained spectra are compared with the results of the recent band calculation.
