X-Ray Valence-Band Emission Spectra from Square-Planar Complex Compounds of Palladium (II) and Platinum (II)

With a high-resolution two crystal spectrometer, the palladium Lp..., emission andchlorine Kp emission spectra in fluorescence are measured for sq uare-planar complexcompounds K.PdCl., (NH.).PdCl., /roz,s-[Pd(NH.).Cl.], [Pd(NH.).]Cl.-H.0,K.PtC1., cis- and Zrao.s-[Pt(NO.).Cl.]. The result is presented along with thepalladium L... absorption-edge and chlorine K absorption-edge spectra of these cornpounds, reported previously. The effect of the ligand replacement Cl SNFI. is foundin the both emission spectra. The effect of geometrical isomerism is observed in thechlorine Kp emission spectra of cis- and Zrvo,s-[Pt(NO.).Cl.].
