4'-Galactosyllactose Production in a Jar Fermentor by Cryptococcus laurentii OKN-4

The growth and 4'-galactosyllactose (4'-GL) production of Cryptococcus laurentii OKN-4 were improved by controlling the pH, aeration and agitation in a jar fermentor. Under the improved conditions, the cell growth became stationary at 30 h of incubation, and the ratio of 4'-GL produced to initial lactose was 31%.
