The metabolism of gibberelline (GAs) in intact plants of Raphanus sativus was investigated. With [^2H]GA feeds, [^2H]GA_1 from [^2H]GA_4, and [^2H]GA_4 and [^2H]GA_<20> from [^2H]GA_9 were metabolized. Since [^2H]GA_<20> was not converted into [^2H]GA_1, endogenous GA_1 may have been biosynthesized from GA_9 via GA_4 rather than from GA_<20>. The radioactivity of [^3H]GA_9 and [^3H]GA_<20> was much more strongly transported among the plant organs than that of [^3H]GA_1 and [^3H]GA_4.
