The magnetic properties of the pseudobinary system, Pr. .La.Al., have beeninvestigated in order to know the combined effect of the crystal field and magneticdilution of Pr by La in PrAl.. The Pr concentration dependence of the Curietemperature and magnetic moment of Pr" in Pr. .La.AI. are reported anddiscussed in terms of the crystalline electric and molecular fields, suggesting thatPrAl. has a bunched state as the ground state. A set of crystal field parametersin PrAl. is proposed to be ,v=0.81 and W= -0.53 meV.
