Satellite Structure in ^<59>Co NMR Spectrum of Magnetically Ordered Dy_<1-x>Y_xCo_2 Intermetallic Compound

The magnetic environment effect of cobalt in Dy.-.Y,Co. has been studiedby means of bulk magnetization and "Co spin-echo NMR measurements at4.2 K. Clearly resolved satellite structures of the NMR spectra have been ob-served. The hypsrfine field distributions of "Co are decomposed into contribu-tions of Co atoms in various nearest neighbor configurations of rarc earth atoms.In this analysis the dipole field due to nearest neighbor tars earth momentsplays an important role. The result indicates that the magnetic moment of Co inthe RCo. cubic Laves phase pseudobinary compounds is quite sensitive to thenearest neighbor rare earth environment.
