Magnetic Properties and Phase Diagram of Co_xMn_<1-x>TiO_3 with Exchange Frustration

Low-field DC magnetization measurements have been made on a random mixtureCo,Mn. .Ti0, with competing exchange interactions and competing anisotropies,and the magnetic phase diagram in the concentration (.v)-temperature (7') plane hasbeen determined from these results. Typical behavior characterizing a paramagneticto spin glass transition is observed in an intermediate range of concentration. In thesamples of the Co-rich and Mn-rich region, antiferromagnetic orderings take place.The magnetizations perpendicular to the spin axes of the respective antiferromagneticorderings behave just as paramagnets even below the Neel temperature. At low fern-peratures, the Co-rich and Mn-rich samples with certain x reenter from the antifer-romagnetic phase to the spin glass phase. In spite of the strong planar anisotropy ofCo" , the X F-like spin glass behavior has not been found, and the spin glass and reen-trant transition in 577 and .s'. occur simultaneously, reasons for which are discussed.[spin glass, reentrant spin glass, phase diagram, antiferromagnet, dc-magnetiza- ]I tionI
