High Field Magnetization of Singlet Ground State System Cs_3Cr_2X_9(X=Cl,Br) up to 40 T

High field magnetization measurements were performed up to 40 T in the multilevelsinglet ground state systems, Cs.Cr.X, (X=Cl, Br), having hierarchical higher excited magnetic states. Characteristic stair structure with three steps was observed, forthe first time, in the magnetization curve of Cs.Cr.Cl, and analysed in terms of ax-change-coupled Cr" dimer ntodel with the total spin S=3. Field-induced magneticordering due to weak interdimer interactions is discussed and a novel type of thephase diagram composed of multiple restricted regions of magnetic ordering aroundthe successive level-crossing fields is suggested.[singlet ground state, high field magnetization, field-induced magnetic ordering, l] Cs.Cr.Cl, Cs,Cr.Br.l
