New Critical Exponent β of the XY Antiferromagnet on Stacked Triangular Lattice,CsMnBr_3

The phase transition of the XY antiferromagnet on a stacked triangular lattice,CsMnBr. is studied by neutron diffraction. The critical exponent fi is found to be/7=0.25f0.01. The value is in excellent agreement with the predicted value byKawamura for a new universality class, giving convincing experimental support to thephase transition characterized by the Z. X S. or 042) symmetry.
